About John

John Exley, based in Northamptonshire, the heart of UK motorsport, brings three decades of expertise in building race and championship-winning engines, combining traditional engineering skills with modern technology.

His passion is driven by the design and construction of individual engines, along with their history. His experience has powered numerous championship-winning vehicles, from the 1900s to the 1980s, winning races across many formulas. In one year, he had nine engines competing in different classes at Goodwood Revival!

It has been a great privilege for him to work on some of the most significant historic race cars and continue adding to their rich history. Each project represents not just an engineering challenge, but an opportunity to preserve and enhance motorsport heritage.
